عکس ہر طرح کے خوش ہو کے ہمیں پینے ہیں
ہم بھی دیواروں پہ لٹکے ہوئے آئینے ہیں
تیرتی کائی کے ٹکڑے یہ صدا دیتے تھے
چاک ندیوں کے گریبان ہمیں سینے ہیں
کھا گئی ان کو بھی آخر مرے ماحول کی دھوپ
جلتی شاخوں سے بھی کچھ سائے اگر چھینے ہیں
سیڑھیاں دل کے تقاضوں کی چڑھو گے کب تک
جن کا آخیر نہیں ہے یہ وہی زینے ہیں
کیا خبر تھی کہ اجالے نہیں دیں گے ندرتؔ
وہ ستارے جو اندھیروں کے لیے چھینے ہیں

tairti kai ke TukDe ye sada dete the
chaak nadiyon ke gareban hamein sine hain
kha gai un ko bhi aaKHir mere mahaul ki dhup
jalti shaKHon se bhi kuchh sae agar chhine hain
siDhiyan dil ke taqazon ki chaDhoge kab tak
jin ka aaKHir nahin hai ye wahi zine hain
kya KHabar thi ki ujale nahin denge 'nudrat'
wo sitare jo andheron ke liye chhine hain
