ہوا بہت ہے متاع سفر سنبھال کے رکھ

دریدہ چادر جاں ہے مگر سنبھال کے رکھ

پھر اس کے بعد تو قدریں انہیں پہ اٹھیں گی

کچھ اور روز یہ دیوار و در سنبھال کے رکھ

ابھی اڑان کے سو امتحان باقی ہیں

ان آندھیوں میں ذرا بال و پر سنبھال کے رکھ

یہ عہد کانپ رہا ہے زمیں کے اندر تک

تو اپنا ہاتھ بھی دیوار پر سنبھال کے رکھ

پڑھیں گے لوگ انہیں میں کہانیاں تیری

کچھ اور روز یہ دامان تر سنبھال کے رکھ

ہوا کے ایک ہی جھونکے کی دیر ہے قیصرؔ

کسی بھی طاق پہ شمع سحر سنبھال کے رکھ
