خود نگر تھے اور محو دید حسن یار تھے
ہم کہ اپنے روبرو شیشہ کی اک دیوار تھے
پھر نگاہوں نے بنے تھے چار سو خوابوں کے جال
سو بہ سو پھر رشتہ گر وہم و گماں کے تار تھے
مختصر سا ہے ہمارا قصۂ شوق سفر
ابر آوارہ تھے ہم لیکن سر کہسار تھے
خندہ ریز و گریہ گیں تھی زخم خاطر کی نمود
دور دنیا کے تعین سے مرے آزار تھے
میں سواد دشت تنہائی کا پھلتا پیڑ تھا
سبز زہر بے کسی سے میرے برگ و بار تھے
بجھ گیا تھا دل ہمارا بعد شرح آرزو
جی کی ہم کہنے گئے تو کشتۂ اظہار تھے
رائیگاں تھی اپنی آب و تاب بھی کیا کیا رضیؔ
ہم کہ اک بے معرکہ اور بے عدو تلوار تھے

phir nigahon ne bune the chaar su KHwabon ke jal
su-ba-su phir rishta-gar wahm-o-guman ke tar the
muKHtasar sa hai hamara qissa-e-shauq-e-safar
abr-e-awara the hum lekin sar-e-kohsar the
KHanda-rez o girya-gin thi zaKHm-e-KHatir ki numud
dur duniya ke tayyun se mere aazar the
main sawad-e-dasht-e-tanhai ka phalta peD tha
sabz zahr-e-be-kasi se mere barg-o-bar the
bujh gaya tha dil hamara baad-e-sharh-e-arzu
ji ki hum kahne gae to kushta-e-izhaar the
raegan thi apni aab-o-tab bhi kya kya 'razi'
hum ki ek be-marka aur be-adu talwar the
