ہزار حیف چھٹا ساتھ ہم نشینوں کا

مکاں تو ہے پہ ٹھکانا نہیں مکینوں کا

کھلا جو باغ میں غنچہ ستارہ دار کھلا

گلوں نے نقش اتارا ہے مہ جبینوں کا

ہے اپنی اپنی طبیعت پہ حسن شے موقوف

میں کیوں ہوں بندۂ بے دام ان حسینوں کا

نظر کا کیا ہے بھروسہ نظر پہ ہیں پردے

خیال عرش پہ جاتا ہے دوربینوں کا

زمین شور ہو یا ہو زمین شعر اے دل

نہیں ہے کوئی خریدار ان زمینوں کا

بہشت دہر ہے اپنا وطن خدا کی قسم

جدا جدا ہے ترانہ سبھی مہینوں کا

کسی کو مان لیا دل نے جب تو مان لیا

نہ دخل دو یہی مسلک ہے خوش یقینوں کا

جو ہو مصور فطرت مثال کیا اس کی

گماں نہ چاہیے انساں پہ آبگینوں کا

ذرا نکل کے تو دنیا سے دیکھ اے انساں

پتا نہ دن کا نہ انداز ہے مہینوں کا

سکھا دیا مجھے بچ بچ کے راستہ چلنا

خدا بھلا کرے اے شادؔ نکتہ چینوں کا
