سمجھتے ہیں جو کمتر ہر کسی کو

وہ سمجھیں تو سہی اپنی کمی کو

جہاں میں جز غم و رنج و مصیبت

ملا بھی ہے عزیزو کچھ کسی کو

کہیں بھی تو کہیں اب کیا کسی سے

سنائیں تو سنائیں کیا کسی کو

حقیقت میں نہیں بنتے کسی کے

بناتے ہیں جو اپنا ہر کسی کو

نہ پائے رفتن اب نے جائے معدن

کہاں تک روئیں اپنی بے بسی کو

تعجب ہے سمجھنے پر بھی سب کچھ

نہ سمجھا آدمی نے آدمی کو

ضیائے حضرت انورؔ نے رفعتؔ

جلا بخشی ہے میری شاعری کو

samajhte hain jo kamtar har kisi ko
wo samjhen to sahi apni kami ko

jahan mein juz gham-o-ranj-o-musibat
mila bhi hai azizo kuchh kisi ko

kahen bhi to kahen ab kya kisi se
sunaen to sunaen kya kisi ko

haqiqat mein nahin bante kisi ke
banate hain jo apna har kisi ko

na pa-e-raftan ab ne ja-e-madin
kahan tak roen apni bebasi ko

tajjub hai samajhne par bhi sab kuchh
na samjha aadmi ne aadmi ko

ziya-e-hazrat-e-'anwar' ne 'rifat'
jila baKHshi hai meri shairi ko
