ہوش کے دور میں بھی جامہ دری مانگے ہے
ہائے آغاز محبت میں وہ خوابوں کے طلسم
زندگی پھر وہی آئینہ گری مانگے ہے
دل جلانے پہ بہت طنز نہ کر اے ناداں
شب گیسو بھی جمال سحری مانگے ہے
میں وہ آسودۂ جلوہ ہوں کہ تیری خاطر
ہر کوئی مجھ سے مری خوش نظری مانگے ہے
تیری مہکی ہوئی زلفوں سے بہ انداز حسیں
جانے کیا چیز نسیم سحری مانگے ہے
آپ چاہیں تو تصور بھی مجسم ہو جائے
ذوق آذر تو نئی جلوہ گری مانگے ہے
حسن ہی تو نہیں بیتاب نمائش عنواںؔ
عشق بھی آج نئی جلوہ گری مانگے ہے

hae aaghaz-e-mohabbat mein wo KHwabon ke tilism
zindagi phir wahi aaina-gari mange hai
dil jalane pe bahut tanz na kar ai nadan
shab-e-gesu bhi jamal-e-sahari mange hai
main wo aasuda-e-jalwa hun ki teri KHatir
har koi mujh se meri KHush-nazari mange hai
teri mahki hui zulfon se ba-andaz-e-hasin
jaane kya chiz nasim-e-sahari mange hai
aap chahen to tasawwur bhi mujassam ho jae
zauq-e-azar to nai jalwagari mange hai
husn hi to nahin betab-e-numaish 'unwan'
ishq bhi aaj nai jalwagari mange hai
