دانستہ جو تھے فاصلے وہ بھی تو نہ ہوتے

سچ سچ ہے کسی رنگ میں ہلکا نہیں ہوتا

رو کر جو گواہی دے سچا نہیں ہوتا

بے کار کی ضد سے یونہی مت عیب چھپاؤ

اپنی غلطی مانے جو چھوٹا نہیں ہوتا

لوگوں میں رہ کر اکتا کیوں جاتا ہوں پھر میں

کچھ لوگوں کو سہہ لیتا تو تنہا نہیں ہوتا

کس تلخی سے جانے ابھی ہے تلخ یہ لہجہ

سن لیتا ہوں سب ، اب مرا جھگڑا نہیں ہوتا

دانستہ جو تھے فاصلے وہ بھی تو نہ ہوتے

دنیا نے جو اس سے مجھے جوڑا نہیں ہوتا

اک پل کے لیے کوئی متاثر مجھے کر دے

اے عمرِ رواں اب کیوں ایسا نہیں ہوتا

ہر آدمی اعجازؔ ہے یاں خاک کا پیکر

اب مجھ کو کسی پر بھی بھروسہ نہیں ہوتا
