کسی تلاش سے پہلے جو اب ملا ہوں تجھے

تو سوچتا ہے کہ میں بے سبب ملا ہوں تجھے

ہم ایک دوسرے کے واسطے بنائے گئے

میں اک چراغ ہوں اور وقتِ شب ملا ہوں تجھے

میں روزِ حشر یہی سوچتا رہا یا رب

ترے ظہور سے پہلے میں کب ملا ہوں تھجے

مرا شمار تو اہلِ سخن میں تھا ہی نہیں

یہ فن ملا ہے مجھے تب میں جب ملا ہوں تجھے

مجھے وصال سے آگے کا ہجر چاہیئے تھا

اسی طلب سے تو میں بے طلب ملا ہوں تجھے

تو کھو گیا تو مجھے خود کو ڈھونڈنا پڑے گا

میں اپنے آپ سے بچھڑا ہوں تب ملا ہوں تجھے

مرے خمیر میں شامل ہے خاکِ کرب و بلا

سو زیرِ آب پڑا تشنہ لب ملا ہوں تجھے

فقط ترا ہوں تعارف یہی ہے میرا قِفل

میں چھوڑ چھاڑ کے نام و نسب ملا ہوں تجھے
