آج اسی دشت پہ ساون کی لگی ہیں جھڑیاں

رات دن سلسلۂ عمر رواں کی کڑیاں

شب کو جو وادیاں سنسان رہیں

صبح یوں اوس سے آراستہ تھیں

ہر طرف موتیوں کی جیسے تنی ہوئی لڑیاں

رات دن سلسلۂ عمر رواں کی کڑیاں

توڑ کر پاؤں نہ بیٹھو آؤ!

صبح کے اور قریب آ جاؤ!

یوں تو ہر حال میں کٹتی ہی رہیں گی گھڑیاں
