اب نہ پھیلاؤں گا میں دست سوال

میں نے دیکھا ہے کہ مجبور ہے تو

میری دنیا سے بہت دور ہے تو

تیری قسمت میں جہاں بانی ہے

میری تقدیر میں حیرانی ہے

بزم ہستی میں سرافراز ہے تو

میرے انجام کا آغاز ہے تو

تو ہے آسودۂ فرش سنجاب

خلد ہے تیرے شبستاں کا جواب

مسجد شہر کی محراب کا خم

تیری تقدیس کی کھاتا ہے قسم

میں ہوں اک شاعر آوارہ مزاج

اور ترے فرق پہ اخلاق کا تاج

میں نے عالم سے بغاوت کی ہے

تو نے ہر شے سے محبت کی ہے!

میں نے مذہب پہ بھی الزام دھرا

تو نے وہموں کو بھی ایماں سمجھا

گل کہاں اور خس و خاشاک کہاں

عالم پاک کہاں خاک کہاں

اب نہ پھیلاؤں گا میں دست سوال
