وہ تو مجھ میں ہی نہاں تھا مجھے معلوم نہ تھا

خون بن کر وہ رواں تھا مجھے معلوم نہ تھا

اتنے مجروح تھے جذبات ہمارے جس پر

چرخ بھی محو فغاں تھا مجھے معلوم نہ تھا

پیاس شدت کی تھی صحرا بھی تڑپ جاتا تھا

امتحاں سر پہ جواں تھا مجھے معلوم نہ تھا

پیر تو پیر یہاں روح کے چھالے نکلے

دور اتنا بھی مکاں تھا مجھے معلوم نہ تھا

دل بھی ہوتا ہے سنا کرتے تھے ہر سینے میں

درد بھی اس میں نہاں تھا مجھے معلوم نہ تھا

عشق کے بحر میں غوطہ تو لگایا لیکن

بعد میں اس کے کہاں تھا مجھے معلوم نہ تھا

فتنہ گر لوٹنے والا سر بازار یہاں

اتنا شیرین زباں تھا مجھے معلوم نہ تھا

حسن الفت کو سمائے ہوئے سینے میں نثارؔ

دل میں اک درد جواں تھا مجھے معلوم نہ تھا
