کسی کے ہجر میں جینا محال ہو گیا ہے

کسے بتائیں ہمارا جو حال ہو گیا ہے

کہیں گرا ہے نہ روندا گیا ہے دل پھر بھی

شکستہ ہو گیا ہے پائمال ہو گیا ہے

سحر جو آئی ہے شب کے تمام ہونے پر

تو اس میں کون سا ایسا کمال ہو گیا ہے

کوئی بھی چیز سلامت نہیں مگر یہ دل

شکستگی میں جو اپنی مثال ہو گیا ہے

ادھر چراغ جلے ہیں کسی دریچے میں

ادھر وظیفۂ دل بحال ہو گیا ہے

حیا کا رنگ جو آیا ہے اس کے چہرے پر

یہ رنگ حاصل شام وصال ہو گیا ہے

مسافت شب ہجراں میں چاند بھی اجملؔ

تھکن سے چور غموں سے نڈھال ہو گیا ہے
