یہ ہم سے پوچھتے ہو رنج امتحاں کیا ہے

تمہیں کہو صلۂ خون کشتگاں کیا ہے

اسیر بند خزاں ہوں نہ پوچھ اے صیاد

خرام کیا ہے صبا کیا ہے گلستاں کیا ہے

ہوئی ہے عمر کہ دل کو نظر سے ربط نہیں

مگر یہ سلسلۂ چشم خوں فشاں کیا ہے

نظر اٹھے تو نہ سمجھوں جھکے تو کیا سمجھوں

سکوت ناز یہ پیرایۂ بیاں کیا ہے

بہیں نہ آنکھ سے آنسو تو نغمگی بے سود

کھلیں نہ پھول تو رنگینئ فغاں کیا ہے

نگاہ یاس ترے ہاتھ ہے بھرم دل کا

کہیں وہ جان نہ لیں عشق کی زباں کیا ہے

یہ اور بات کہ ہم تم کو بے وفا نہ کہیں

مگر یہ جانتے ہیں جور آسماں کیا ہے

میں شکوہ سنج نہیں اپنی تیرہ بختی کا

مگر بتاؤ تو یہ صبح زر فشاں کیا ہے
