ساتھیو رسم جنوں عام رہے
بارہا سعیٔ طلب کی ہم نے
یہ الگ بات کہ ناکام رہے
عظمت عشق سے ناواقف تھے
جو اسیر ہوس خام رہے
کیا تعجب ہے کہ پیران حرم
مر کے بھی طالب اصنام رہے
کیا خبر ہے کہ یوں ہی اے اخترؔ
تا بہ کے گردش ایام رہے
