کب عشق میں یاروں کی پذیرائی ہوئی ہے
ہر کوہ کن و قیس کی رسوائی ہوئی ہے
اس کوہ کو میں نے ہی تراشا ہے مری جان
تجھ تک یہ جوئے شیر مری لائی ہوئی ہے
اس شہر میں کیا چاند چمکتا ہوا دیکھیں
اس شہر میں ہر شکل تو گہنائی ہوئی ہے
وہ عشق کی زنجیر جو کاٹے نہیں کٹتی
پیروں میں وہ تیری ہی تو پہنائی ہوئی ہے
یہ تخت سبا خلعت گل کرسیٔ مہتاب
سب تیرے لیے انجمن آرائی ہوئی ہے
جو تیرے خزانے کے لیے لوح شرف ہے
وہ مہر جواہر مری ٹھکرائی ہوئی ہے
شہرہ ہے بہت جس کی تلاوت کا چمن میں
وہ آیت گل میری ہی پڑھوائی ہوئی ہے
تھی جو نہ کسی شانۂ یوسف کی طلب گار
وہ زلف زلیخا مری سودائی ہوئی ہے
دیکھا ہے کسی آہوئے خوش چشم کو اس نے
آنکھوں میں بہت اس کی چمک آئی ہوئی ہے

har kohkan o qais ki ruswai hui hai
is koh ko main ne hi tarasha hai meri jaan
tujh tak ye ju-e-shir meri lai hui hai
is shahr mein kya chand chamakta hua dekhen
is shahr mein har shakl to gahnai hui hai
wo ishq ki zanjir jo kaTe nahin kaTti
pairon mein wo teri hi to pahnai hui hai
ye taKHt-e-saba KHilat-e-gul kursi-e-mahtab
sab tere liye anjuman-arai hui hai
jo tere KHazane ke liye lauh-e-sharaf hai
wo mohr-e-jawahar meri Thukrai hui hai
shohra hai bahut jis ki tilawat ka chaman mein
wo aayat-e-gul meri hi paDhwai hui hai
thi jo na kisi shana-e-yusuf ki talabgar
wo zulf-e-zuleKHa meri saudai hui hai
dekha hai kisi aahu-e-KHush-chashm ko us ne
aankhon mein bahut us ki chamak aai hui hai
