ہم اتنی جلدی میں تھے

عتیق اللہ

گلی میں گہرا اندھیرا تھا

اندھیرے کی لاٹھی کو تھامے ہوئے

چور قدموں سے ہم نے اپنی راہ لی تھی

ہم اتنی جلدی میں تھے

کہ اپنے پاؤں کے نشان تو بریف کیسوں میں بھر لیے

مگر پاؤں وہیں چھوڑ دئے

ابو نے اپنی عینک بکسے میں رکھ لی

آنکھیں میز کی دراز ہی میں چھوڑ آئے

اماں نے امام ضامن میرے بازو میں باندھا

اور جلدی میں میرے بازو گلی کے نکڑ پر ہی چھوٹ گئے

ٹرین ابھی پلیٹ فارم پر ہی لگتی تھی

لوگ ایک دوسرے کو روندتے ہوئے بھاگے جا رہے تھے

کہ سب کے سب جلدی میں تھے

ہم اتنی جلدی میں تھے

اور جلدی میں اکثر ایسا ہوتا ہے

مصلے ہمارے ساتھ تھے

اور نمازیں وہیں بھول گئے

طاقوں میں دھری کی دھری رہ گئیں

دعائیں اگر بتیاں اور لوبان

بیوی نیندیں رکھنا بھول گئی تھی

گما دئیے تھے اس نے سارے خواب

اور لے آئی تھی اپنے ساتھ حیرت زدہ سنسان آنکھیں

ہم اتنی جلدی میں تھے

کہ ہمارے صندوق دوسروں کے صندوق سے بدل گئے

جن میں تھیں ذلتیں ہجرتیں درد کی ٹھوکریں

اور لمبے ہوتے ہوئے خوف کے دیو

چلتے چلتے

کسی نے ایک گٹھری تھما دی تھی

گٹھری کیا تھی ایک امانت تھی

بھاگتے اور سنبھالتے ہوئے ہمارے سروں سے گر پڑی

اور اس سے باہر نکل آئیں

چیخیں بھوک بچوں کی یتیمی کٹی پھٹی عصمتیں

ایک پڑوسی جو اس دوڑ میں ہمارے ساتھ ہی تھا

اپنی ہنسی ایک دھول بھرے بستر میں چھوڑ آیا

جیسے ہم اپنی مسکراہٹیں بھول آئے تھے

gali mein gahra andhera tha
andhere ki laThi ko thame hue
chor qadmon se hum ne apni rah li thi

hum itni jaldi mein the
ki apne panw ke nishan to brief-cason mein bhar liye

magar panw wahin chhoD diye
abbu ne apni ainak bakse mein rakh li
aankhen mez ki daraaz hi mein chhoD aae
amman ne imam-e-zamin mere bazu mein bandha
aur jaldi mein mere bazu gali ke nukkaD par hi chhuT gae

train abhi platform par hi lagti thi
log ek dusre ko raundte hue bhage ja rahe the
ki sab ke sab jaldi mein the

hum itni jaldi mein the
aur jaldi mein aksar aisa hota hai
musalle hamare sath the
aur namazen wahin bhul gae
taqon mein dhari ki dhari rah gain
duaen agar-battiyan aur loban

biwi ninden rakhna bhul gai thi
guma diye the us ne sare KHwab
aur le aai thi apne sath hairat-zada sunsan aankhen
hum itni jaldi mein the
ki hamare sanduq dusron ke sanduq se badal gae
jin mein thin zillaten hijraten dard ki Thokaren
aur lambe hote hue KHauf ke dew

chalte chalte
kisi ne ek gaThri thama di thi
gaThri kya thi ek amanat thi
bhagte aur sanbhaalte hue hamare saron se gir paDi
aur us se bahar nikal aain
chiKHen bhuk bachchon ki yatimi kaTi phaTi ismaten
ek paDosi jo is dauD mein hamare sath hi tha
apni hansi ek dhul-bhare bistar mein chhoD aaya
jaise hum apni muskurahaTen bhul aae the
