پڑے ہیں راہ میں جو لوگ بے سبب کب سے
پکارتی ہے انہیں منزل طلب کب سے
یہ اور بات مکینوں کو کچھ خبر نہ ہوئی
لگا رہے تھے محافظ مگر نقب کب سے
کوئی بھی حربۂ تشہیر کارگر نہ ہوا
تماشبیں ہی رہی شہرت ادب کب سے
اکھڑ گئی ہیں طنابیں ستم کے خیموں کی
الٹ گئی ہے بساط حسب نسب کب سے
نہ حوصلہ ہے دعا کا نہ آہ پر ہے یقیں
کہ ہم سے روٹھ گیا ہے ہمارا رب کب سے
سمندروں سے کوئی موج سر بلند اٹھے
کہ ساحلوں پہ تڑپتے ہیں جاں بہ لب کب سے
وہ ہم نے چن دیے تنقید کی صلیبوں پر
مچل رہے تھے جو کچھ حرف زیر لب کب سے
