چراغ جلنے لگیں اور دل مچلنے لگے

چراغ جلنے لگیں اور دل مچلنے لگے

ادھر ہو رات ادھر کوئی جی کو ملنے لگے

اداس اوس کی بوندوں سے بجھنے جلنے لگے

تم آ رہو تو ستاروں کی لو سنبھلنے لگے

یہ دیودار کی ٹہنی پہ تھم گیا سا چاند

ہوا چلے تو ابھی کروٹیں بدلنے لگے

تمام رات دھواں سا اچھالتی رہی رات

رکی تو ٹھٹھرے ہوئے ہاتھ پاؤں جلنے لگے

اب ان ہری بھری سڑکوں کا جانے کیا ہوگا

تھی جن سے راہ وہی راستہ بدلنے لگے

جو بادلوں میں تری مانگ سی لکیروں پر

نظر گئی تو دلوں میں چراغ جلنے لگے

رکو تو درد سا ٹھہرا سجھائی دے دل میں

چلو تو اشکؔ کسک ساتھ ساتھ چلنے لگے
