لمحوں کا بھنور چیر کے انسان بنا ہوں

احساس ہوں میں وقت کے سینے میں گڑا ہوں

کہنے کو تو ہر ملک میں گھوما ہوں پھرا ہوں

سوچوں تو جہاں تھا وہیں چپ چاپ کھڑا ہوں

فٹ پاتھ پہ عرصے سے پڑا سوچ رہا ہوں

پتا تو میں سر سبز تھا کیوں ٹوٹ گرا ہوں

اک روز زر و سیم کے انبار بھی تھے ہیچ

بکنے پہ جو آیا ہوں تو کوڑی پہ بکا ہوں

شاید کہ کبھی مجھ پہ بھی ہیرے کا گماں ہو

دیکھو تو میں پتھر ہوں مگر سوچ رہا ہوں

حالات کا دھارا کبھی ایسے بھی رکا ہے

ناداں ہوں کہ میں ریت کے بند باندھ رہا ہوں

اک ریت کی دیوار کی صورت تھے سب آدرش

جن کے لیے اک عمر میں دنیا سے لڑا ہوں

احباب کی نظروں میں ہوں گر واجب تعظیم

کیوں اپنی نگاہوں میں بری طرح گرا ہوں

اے فخرؔ گرجنا مری فطرت سہی لیکن

جو غیر کی مرضی سے ہی برسے وہ گھٹا ہوں
