چھپ کے اس نے جو خود نمائی کی
حسرت موہانی
چھپ کے اس نے جو خود نمائی کی
انتہا تھی یہ دل ربائی کی
مائل غمزہ ہے وہ چشم سیاہ
اب نہیں خیر پارسائی کی
ہم سے کیونکر وہ آستانہ چھٹے
مدتوں جس پہ جبہ سائی کی
دل نے برسوں بہ جستجوئے کمال
کوچۂ عشق میں گدائی کی
دام سے ان کے چھوٹنا تو کہاں
یاں ہوس بھی نہیں رہائی کی
کیا کیا یہ کہ اہل شوق کے ساتھ
تو نے کی بھی تو بے وفائی کی
ہو کے نادم وہ بیٹھے ہیں خاموش
صلح میں شان ہے لڑائی کی
اس تغافل شعار سے حسرتؔ
ہم میں طاقت نہیں جدائی کی

kucha-e-ishq mein gadai ki
dam se un ke chhuTna to kahan
yan hawas bhi nahin rihai ki
kya kiya ye ki ahl-e-shauq ke sath
tu ne ki bhi to bewafai ki
ho ke nadim wo baiThe hain KHamosh
sulh mein shan hai laDai ki
us taghaful-shiar se 'hasrat'
hum mein taqat nahin judai ki
