آنے والے شعر پہ رائے باری باری بیٹھے گی
اب کہ جو بھی نظم کہوں گا ذہن پہ ساری بیٹھے گی
اس کے لیے پوشاک بناؤں گا میں اپنے ہاتھوں سے
رنگ سپیدی بیچ میں ہوگا سرخ کناری بیٹھے گی
کم گو ہیں اور اپنی عادت اپنی فکر پہ بھاری ہے
ورنہ جب بھی بات کریں گے دھاک ہماری بیٹھے گی
اچھے یاروں کی صحبت میں رہنا اچھا لگتا ہے
لوگ برے ہوں گے جب سارے شر بازاری بیٹھے گی
دھیرے چلنا تھامے رہنا فکر سبک رفتاری کو
رستے میں اک موڑ آئے گا اور سواری بیٹھے گی
دل کی زمیں پر ہم نے اک کونا بھی خالی چھوڑا ہے
شام کو واپس آ کر جس میں یاد تمہاری بیٹھے گی
شعر کی دنیا سے میں باہر نکلوں بھی تو کیوں نکلوں
نشہ جب اترے گا میرا میری خماری بیٹھے گی
رات کو جو بھی خواب میں دیکھا صبح وہی تعبیر کیا
اگلے روز بھی جاگنا ہوگا نیند بچاری بیٹھے گی
زیست ہماری تھک جائے گی ہجر کے لمبے رستے پر
اور ذرا سستانے کو بھی یہ دکھیاری بیٹھے گی
میرے بچاؤ کی تو میرے یار ہی کچھ تدبیر کریں
آنکھ سے ضرب لگی ہے دل پر ضرب تو کاری بیٹھے گی
