کالی داس گپتا رضا

میں تیری نگہ میں اک چمن تھا

یہ حسن نظر تھا حسن ظن تھا

پکا تھا جو من کا خستہ تن تھا

وہ قیس کہاں تھا کوہ کن تھا

مخمور سی ہو رہی تھیں آنکھیں

رجحان گناہ ضو فگن تھا

دنیا مقتل بنی تھی اور دل

اپنے ہی خیال میں مگن تھا

غم خانہ ہو کے رہ گیا ہے

وہ لفظ جو معبد سخن تھا

اڑتا پھرتا غبار ہر سو

یہ دشت رواں کبھی چمن تھا

کہنے کو تو مر چکی تھی خواہش

باقی مگر اس کا بانکپن تھا

فن کار تھے ہم نہ تھے کفن کش

زندوں کے لیے ہمارا فن تھا

کیا روح دمک دمک اٹھی تھی

کندن سا خیال کا بدن تھا

گو ہونٹ رضاؔ کے سل گئے تھے

خامے کی زباں سے نغمہ زن تھا
