یہ بے خلوص ہے دنیا نہ در بدر جاؤ
اب اپنا کاسۂ دل لے کے اپنے گھر جاؤ
چڑھاؤ پر ہے یہ دریا ابھی ٹھہر جاؤ
اگر ہے خود پہ بھروسہ تو پار اتر جاؤ
فقط مرے ہی لہو کی ہے پیاس خنجر کو
تم اپنی راہوں پہ بے خوف و بے خطر جاؤ
ہر ایک چہرے پہ سورج تلاشنے والو
کہیں نہ دن کے اجالے میں ہی بکھر جاؤ
تمام جسم مجھے برف برف لگتے ہیں
نظر کی دھوپ سمیٹے ہوئے گزر جاؤ
اندھیری راتوں کی پلکیں بہت گھنیری ہیں
ہماری آنکھوں کی پتلی میں ہی ٹھہر جاؤ
میں کاٹ لوں گا کسی طرح اپنی تیرہ شبی
تم اپنے واسطے لے کر مری سحر جاؤ
اب اس کے بعد مجھے کوفیوں میں گھرنا ہے
یہیں سے لوٹ کے واپس اے ہم سفر جاؤ
یہ بے سروں کا نگر ہے تو یہ کرو انورؔ
سر خودی کو تم اپنے سنبھال کر جاؤ

chaDhaw par hai ye dariya abhi Thahar jao
agar hai KHud pe bharosa to par utar jao
faqat mere hi lahu ki hai pyas KHanjar ko
tum apni rahon pe be-KHauf-o-be-KHatar jao
har ek chehre pe suraj talashne walo
kahin na din ke ujale mein hi bikhar jao
tamam jism mujhe barf barf lagte hain
nazar ki dhup sameTe hue guzar jao
andheri raaton ki palken bahut ghaneri hain
hamari aankhon ki putli mein hi Thahar jao
main kaT lunga kisi tarah apni tira-shabi
tum apne waste le kar meri sahar jao
ab is ke ba'd mujhe kufiyon mein ghirna hai
yahin se lauT ke wapas ai ham-safar jao
ye be-saron ka nagar hai to ye karo 'anwar'
sar-e-KHudi ko tum apne sanbhaal kar jao
