شیشۂ ساعت میں پیہم کروٹیں لیتا رہا

شیشۂ ساعت میں پیہم کروٹیں لیتا رہا

میں بدلتے وقت کی گردش کا پیمانہ رہا

شمع نے جل کر پریشاں کر دیا مرا وجود

تیرگی تک مجھ سے وابستہ مرا سایا رہا

دوسروں کو جو شکایت مجھ سے تھی بے جا نہ تھی

میں وہ ہوں جس کو خود اپنے آپ سے شکوا رہا

زندگی میں جانے کتنی بار آ کر ٹل گئی

وہ اجل میں راہ جس کی عمر بھر تکتا رہا

ذوق رائج کے مطابق نت نئے پہنے لباس

زیر جامہ جیسا بوسیدہ تھا بوسیدہ رہا

ایک لمحہ کو ملا تھا کیف از خود رفتگی

اک صدی سے بھی زیادہ اس کا خمیازہ رہا

غیر نے جب تک نہ آئینہ دکھایا اے شروشؔ

میرا چہرہ خود مری نظروں سے پوشیدہ رہا

shisha-e-saat mein paiham karwaTen leta raha
main badalte waqt ki gardish ka paimana raha

shama ne jal kar pareshan kar diya mera wajud
tirgi tak mujh se wabasta mera saya raha

dusron ko jo shikayat mujh se thi beja na thi
main wo hun jis ko KHud apne aap se shikwa raha

zindagi mein jaane kitni bar aa kar Tal gai
wo ajal mein rah jis ki umr bhar takta raha

zauq-e-raij ke mutabiq nit nae pahne libas
zer jama jaisa bosida tha bosida raha

ek lamhe ko mila tha kaif az-KHud raftagi
ek sadi se bhi ziyaada is ka KHamyaza raha

ghair ne jab tak na aaina dikhaya a 'sharosh'
mera chehra KHud meri nazron se poshida raha
