ناتواں ایک ہم رہ گئے

اور یہ رنج و غم رہ گئے

تم تو رخصت ہوئے بزم سے

غم اٹھانے کو ہم رہ گئے

تم تو ہنستے ہوئے چل دئے

ہم لئے چشم نم رہ گئے

آدمیوں کی بہتات ہے

آہ انسان کم رہ گئے

غم گسار اٹھ گئے بزم سے

ناصح محترم رہ گئے

پی کے جام اجل وہ گئے

تشنہ لب ایک ہم رہ گئے

غم ہمیں اتنے عاقبؔ ملے

بن کے تصویر غم رہ گئے

aur ye ranj-o-gham rah gae

tum to ruKHsat hue bazm se
gham uThane ko hum rah gae

tum to hanste hue chal diye
hum liye chashm-e-nam rah gae

aadamiyyon ki bohtat hai
aah insan kam rah gae

gham-gusar uTh gae bazm se
naseh-e-mohtaram rah gae

pi ke jam-e-ajal wo gae
