نہ برگ ہوں میں گل کا نہ لالے کا شجر ہوں

نہ برگ ہوں میں گل کا نہ لالے کا شجر ہوں

میں لخت دل ریش ہوں اور داغ جگر ہوں

ہوں دیر میں نہ کعبے میں نہ دل ہی میں اپنے

کیا جانوں تجسس میں تری آہ کدھر ہوں

پیدا ہوئے اور جاتے رہے سیکڑوں مجھ سے

آتش کدہ دہر میں اک میں بھی شرر ہوں

نہ زیست کا حظ ہے نہ مجھے موت کا آرام

ہوں نزع میں جیسے کہ ادھر ہوں نہ ادھر ہوں

واں دھیان کبھی تجھ کو گزرتا نہیں میرا

میں ہوں کہ تری یاد میں یاں آٹھ پہر ہوں

نہ دود ہوں مجمر کا نہ میں شمع کا شعلہ

میں نالۂ شبگیر ہوں اور آہ سحر ہوں

خالی نہیں مجھ سے حرم و دیر و دل و چشم

میں مظہر حق ہوں کہ جدھر دیکھو تدھر ہوں

پاتا ہی نہیں راہ کسی دل میں الٰہی

میں کس دل ناکام کی آہوں کا اثر ہوں

نہ شیشۂ مے ہوں نہ حسنؔ ساغر لبریز

میں اک دل پر درد ہوں اور دیدۂ تر ہوں
