بس گیا میں جان سے اب اس سے یہ جانا گیا

کچھ نہ دیکھا پھر بجز یک شعلۂ پر پیچ و تاب

شمع تک تو ہم نے دیکھا تھا کہ پروانہ گیا

ایک ہی چشمک تھی فرصت صحبت احباب کی

دیدۂ تر ساتھ لے مجلس سے پیمانہ گیا

گل کھلے صد رنگ تو کیا بے پری سے اے نسیم

مدتیں گزریں کہ وہ گلزار کا جانا گیا

دور تجھ سے میرؔ نے ایسا تعب کھینچا کہ شوخ

کل جو میں دیکھا اسے مطلق نہ پہچانا گیا
