ہمارے چہرے کے اوپر بھی رنگ تھا آگے

اٹھائیں تیرے لیے بد زبانیاں ان کی

جنہوں کی ہم کو خوشامد سے ننگ تھا آگے

ہماری آہوں سے سینے پہ ہو گیا بازار

ہر ایک زخم کا کوچہ جو تنگ تھا آگے

رہا تھا شمع سے مجلس میں دوش کتنا فرق

کہ جل بجھے تھے یہ ہم پر پتنگ تھا آگے

کیا خراب تغافل نے اس کے ورنہ میرؔ

ہر ایک بات پہ دشنام و سنگ تھا آگے
