تعمیر ہم نے کی تھی ہمیں نے گرا دیے

شب کو محل بنائے سویرے گرا دیے

کمزور جو ہوئے ہوں وہ رشتے کسے عزیز

پیلے پڑے تو شاخ نے پتے گرا دیے

اب تک ہماری عمر کا بچپن نہیں گیا

گھر سے چلے تھے جیب کے پیسے گرا دیے

پتھر سے دل کی آگ سنبھالی نہیں گئی

پہنچی ذرا سی چوٹ پتنگے گرا دیے

برسوں ہوئے تھے جن کی تہیں کھولتے ہوئے

اپنی نظر سے ہم نے وہ چہرے گرا دیے

شہر طرب میں رات ہوا تیز تھی بہت

کاندھوں سے مہ وشوں کے دوپٹے گرا دیے

تاب نظر کو حوصلہ ملنا ہی تھا کبھی

کیوں تم نے احتیاط میں پردے گرا دیے

tamir hum ne ki thi hamin ne gira diye
shab ko mahal banae sawere gira diye

kamzor jo hue hon wo rishte kise aziz
pile paDe to shaKH ne patte gira diye

ab tak hamari umr ka bachpan nahin gaya
ghar se chale the jeb ke paise gira diye

patthar se dil ki aag sambhaali nahin gai
pahunchi zara si choT patinge gira diye

barson hue the jin ki tahen kholte hue
apni nazar se hum ne wo chehre gira diye

shahr-e-tarab mein raat hawa tez thi bahut
kandhon se mah-washon ke dupaTTe gira diye

tab-e-nazar ko hausla milna hi tha kabhi
kyun tum ne ehtiyat mein parde gira diye
