نوشابہ نرگس
وہ اجنبی تھا
مرے نگر میں
ایک ایسی منزل کا راہرو
جو فقط تمنا تھی روشنی تھی
میں کس سے پوچھوں
کہاں ہے وہ اجنبی مسافر
جو پیار کی دھوپ لے کے آیا
اور اب گیا ہے
تو ہنستا ہنستا
یہ شہر سنسان کر گیا ہے
میں کیسے مانوں
کہ جانے والے کو
حادثے کی خبر نہیں ہے
جو شہر دل پر گزر گیا ہے
میں کیسے جانوں
کہ دور جا کر
اداس ہے خوش ہے جاگتا ہے
کہ سو رہا ہے
کبھی مجھے بھی وہ سوچتا ہے
میں کس سے پوچھوں
کہ میں یہاں
خود بھی اجنبی ہوں

ye shahr sunsan kar gaya hai
main kaise manun
ki jaane wale ko
hadse ki KHabar nahin hai
jo shahr-e-dil par guzar gaya hai
main kaise jaanun
ki dur ja kar
udas hai KHush hai jagta hai
ki so raha hai
kabhi mujhe bhi wo sochta hai
main kis se puchhun
ki main yahan
KHud bhi ajnabi hun
