پہلے تو ڈر لگا مجھے خود اپنی چاپ سے

پھر رو دیا میں مل کے گلے اپنے آپ سے

دیکھا ہے ہاں اسے ہے وہ کچھ ملتا جلتا سا

مطرب کی میٹھی میٹھی سریلی الاپ سے

تھی بات ہی کچھ ایسی کہ دیوانہ ہو گیا

دیوانہ ورنہ بنتا ہے کون اپنے آپ سے

رہنا ہے جب حریف ہی بن کر تمام عمر

کیا فائدہ ہے یار پھر ایسے ملاپ سے

آیا ادھر خیال ادھر محو ہو گیا

کہنے کو تھا نہ جانے ابھی کیا میں اپنے آپ سے

ہم اور لگائیں اپنے پڑوسی کے گھر میں آگ

بھگوان ہی بچائے ہمیں ایسے پاپ سے

نوشادؔ رات کیسی تھی وہ محفل طرب

لگتی تھی دل پہ چوٹ سی طبلے کی تھاپ سے

pahle to Dar laga mujhe KHud apni chap se
phir ro diya main mil ke gale apne aap se

dekha hai han use hai wo kuchh milta julta sa
mutrib ki miThi miThi surili alap se

thi baat hi kuchh aisi ki diwana ho gaya
diwana warna banta hai kaun apne aap se

rahna hai jab harif hi ban kar tamam umr
kya faeda hai yar phir aise milap se

aaya idhar KHayal udhar mahw ho gaya
kahne ko tha na jaane abhi kya main apne aap se

hum aur lagaen apne paDosi ke ghar mein aag
bhagwan hi bachae hamein aise pap se

'naushad' raat kaisi thi wo mahfil-e-tarab
lagti thi dil pe choT si table ki thap se
