امید یاس بن کے مرے دل میں رہ گئی
تو ہم سے چھپ گیا تو تری شکل دل فریب
تصویر بن کے آئینۂ دل میں رہ گئی
نکلا وہاں سے میں تو مرے دل کی آرزو
سر پیٹتی ہوئی تری محفل میں رہ گئی
دیکھا جو قتل عام تو ہر لاش پر اجل
اک آہ بھر کے کوچۂ قاتل میں رہ گئی
میں کیا کہوں رساؔ کہ مرے دل پہ کیا بنی
تلوار کھچ کے جب کف قاتل میں رہ گئی

taswir ban ke aaina-e-dil mein rah gai
nikla wahan se main to mere dil ki aarzu
sar piTti hui teri mahfil mein rah gai
dekha jo qatl-e-am to har lash par ajal
ek aah bhar ke kucha-e-qatil mein rah gai
main kya kahun 'rasa' ki mere dil pe kya bani
talwar khich ke jab kaf-e-qatil mein rah gai
