ہر نفس اک مستقل فریاد ہے

ثاقب کانپوری

ہر نفس اک مستقل فریاد ہے

کتنی پر غم عشق کی روداد ہے

گھٹ رہی ہیں میرے دل کی قوتیں

اب یہ شاید آخری فریاد ہے

ہو گئی شاید کہ اب تکمیل عشق

ورنہ کیوں شور مبارک باد ہے

جسم پابند تعین ہو تو ہو

روح تو ہر قید سے آزاد ہے

پھر کہاں گلشن میں وہ آسودگی

آشیاں جب وقف برق و باد ہے

دیکھیے انجام کار کائنات

دل مرا پھر مائل فریاد ہے

جس میں ثاقبؔ تھا وہ مجھ سے ہمکنار

مجھ کو وہ منظر ابھی تک یاد ہے

har nafas ek mustaqil fariyaad hai
kitni pur-gham ishq ki rudad hai

ghaT rahi hain mere dil ki quwwaten
ab ye shayad aaKHiri fariyaad hai

ho gai shayad ki ab takmil-e-ishq
warna kyun shor-e-mubarakbaad hai

jism paband-e-tayyun ho to ho
ruh to har qaid se aazad hai

phir kahan gulshan mein wo aasudgi
aashiyan jab waqf-e-barq-o-baad hai

dekhiye anjam-e-kar-kaenat
dil mera phir mail-e-fariyaad hai

jis mein 'saqib' tha wo mujh se ham-kanar
mujh ko wo manzar abhi tak yaad hai
