چاند خوشیوں کا اگا ہے شاید
زندگی اوڑھ چکی تاریکی
دل کوئی ڈوب رہا ہے شاید
آنکھ اس کی بھی نظر آتی ہے نم
کانٹا اس کے بھی چبھا ہے شاید
راہی افسوس ہراساں ہیں سب
قافلہ چھوٹ گیا ہے شاید
نوحہ ہر لب پہ ہر اک جا گریہ
کوئی دنیا سے اٹھا ہے شاید
اس سے شاغلؔ ہیں گریزاں سب ہی
وہ بھی آسیب زدہ ہے شاید

qafila chhuT gaya hai shayad
nauha har lab pe har ek ja girya
koi duniya se uTha hai shayad
us se 'shaghil' hain gurezan sab hi
wo bhi aaseb-zada hai shayad
