سب آشنا بھی ہو کے رہے آشنا نہیں
اس شہر بے وفا میں کوئی آسرا نہیں
مدت ہوئی ہے اس سے کوئی رابطہ ہوئے
جو شخص ایک پل کے لیے بھولتا نہیں
رہنے بھی دے تو اب یہ محبت کے چونچلے
مجھ کو یقیں نہیں ہے کہ تو بے وفا نہیں
اے حکمران دیکھ کہ سہمے ہوئے ہیں طفل
یہ دیکھ کر ضمیر ترا جاگتا نہیں
میرے وطن کے لوگ تو ترسیں سکون کو
ہے ظلم اس قدر کہ کوئی انتہا نہیں

jo shaKHs ek pal ke liye bhulta nahin
rahne bhi de tu ab ye mohabbat ke chonchle
mujh ko yaqin nahin hai ki tu bewafa nahin
ai hukmran dekh ki sahme hue hain tifl
ye dekh kar zamir tera jagta nahin
mere watan ke log to tarsen sukun ko
hai zulm is qadar ki koi intiha nahin
