مصرعے دم پہ رکھ دیتی ہوں
چاول قاب میں بھیگ چکے ہیں
روٹی بیلن کے نیچے ہے
پیاز کا تڑکا دال پہ ڈال کے
چاول پکنے رکھے ہیں
کیٹل میں ہے چائے چڑھائی
جب تک چائے میں بھانپ بنے
میں مصرعے دم پہ رکھ دیتی ہوں
اور اسی اثنا میں برتن
دسترخوان پہ چن دیتی ہوں
دسترخوان پہ کپ پلیٹوں اور چمچوں کے شور میں مصرعے
کچے پکے رہتے ہیں
ایک سکوں کا پل ملتے ہی سوچ کی ہنڈیا کھولوں گی اور اک اک کر کے
دھیمی آنچ پہ سارے مصرعے سینکوں گی
تو سب نظمیں بن جائیں گی

dastar-KHwan pe chun deti hun
dastar-KHwan pe cup paleTon aur chamchon ke shor mein misre
kachche-pakke rahte hain
ek sukun ka pal milte hi soch ki hanDiya kholungi aur ek ek kar ke
dhimi aanch pe sare misre senkungi
to sab nazmen ban jaengi
