میں ان ارادوں سے پوچھتا ہوں

کہ جن میں ہیں

خواہشات کے بے شمار فتنے

جو آج تک جوں کے توں ہیں قائم

ابتدا سے

وجود جن کا عمل میں آیا ہے

نان گندم سے اور سزا سے

تضاد جس میں

ہوا ہے پیدا

آگ سے اور آب و گل سے

کہ زندگی یوں ہی اور کب تک

کسی ماہیٔ بے آب کی سی

قفس قفس مبتلا رہے گی

main un iradon se puchhta hun
ki jin mein hain
KHwahishat ke be-shumar fitne
jo aaj tak jun ke tun hain qaem
ibtida se
wajud jin ka amal mein aaya hai
nan-e-gandum se aur saza se
tazad jis mein
hua hai paida
aag se aur aab-o-gil se
ki zindagi yun hi aur kab tak
kisi mahi-e-be-ab ki si
qafas qafas mubtala rahegi
