یہ گھٹا جو غم کی چھائی نہ تو جاودانی پائے

ہے طویل آرزو بھی نہ خبر کسی کو پل کی

کہ چراغ کوئی جلتا کبھی پل میں بجھ بھی جائے

یہ جو زندگی ہے اپنی یہ تو جیسے بلبلہ ہو

جو پلک جھپکتے نکلے تو کبھی بھی ڈوب جائے

کوئی شاہ ہے جہاں میں تو گدا بھی ہے کوئی

یہ جو زندگی بھلی ہو یا بری بھی بیت جائے

ہوئے نامور بھی کیسے وہ سکندر یا ہو پورس

نہ کبھی بھی اپنی حسرت کوئی پوری کر دکھائے

جو خلوص ہو عمل میں تو عمل کا وزن بھاری

نہ خلوص ہو عمل میں تو عبث سعی ہوجائے

یہی اثر کا ہر لمحہ تو ہو ان کی جستجو میں

ہر گھڑی ہو قیمتی بھی جو سدا ہی سکھ دلائے
