یہ گھٹڑی اپنے ساتھ لئے

یہ گھٹڑی اپنے ساتھ لئے

میں اس رستے پر چلتا ہوں

اب تم بھی اپنی راہ تکو

اور اپنے شہر کی جانب ہو

کیا پاس تمھارے کچھ بھی نہیں

تم خالی ہاتھ ہی جاؤ گے

اک گھٹڑی میرے پاس تو ہے

جو مال و مال بھی ہے لیکن

میں تم کو نہیں یہ دے سکتا

میں نادم ہوں میں بے بس ہوں

میں تم کو نہیں یہ دے سکتا

ہاں سفر میرا دشوار بھی ہے

اس بوجھ سے دل بے زار بھی ہے

چلو اس گھٹڑی کو کھولتے ہیں

اور ماضی کو ٹٹولٹے ہیں

ہاں دیکھو ساری چیزیں تم

یہ یادیں ہیں تمھاری ہی

یہ آنکھیں ہیں تمھاری ہی

اس سمت تو سارےارماں ہیں

یہ کاغذ کے چند ٹکڑے ہیں

جن پر چنر تحریریں ہیں

تمھارا نام ملا کر میں نے

لکھی کئ تعبیریں ہیں

گر دیکھ لیا ہے سب کچھ تو

اک بات مجھے بس کہنی ہے

تمھیں جس رستے پر جانا ہے

یہ گھٹڑی ساتھ لئے جاؤ

اب مجھے تو کچھ معلوم نہیں

میں کس رستے سے آیا تھا

اور کس رستے پر جانا ہے
