فاصلے یوں بھی تو اے دوست سمٹ جاتے ہیں

اُس سے ملنا ہو تو قاصد سے لپٹ جاتے ہیں

بارہا ترکِ مراسم کا تہیہ کر کے

ہم بھی پاگل ہیں کہ ہر بار پلٹ جاتے ہیں

اک زرا بیٹھ کے سوچوں جو کسی آیت کو

کالے بادل سبھی اوہام کے چھٹ جاتے ہیں

اب یہ حالت ہے کہ جب یاد تری آتی ہے

تیرے محروم سرہانے سے چمٹ جاتے ہیں

یار انسان تو ہوتے ہیں پتنگوں کی طرح

ڈور مضبوط بھی جوڑی ہو تو کٹ جاتے ہیں

اک دھماکہ ہے ترا غیر کا بوسہ لینا

آنکھ کیا میرے تو جی جان بھی پھٹ جاتے ہیں

جلتا رہتا یہ محبت کا شرارہ کب تک

تیز آندھی میں تو خیمے بھی الٹ جاتے ہیں

میں نے دیکھے ہیں محبت کے ہزاروں آلام

وقت کے ساتھ یہ دکھ درد بھی گھٹ جاتے ہیں

عام ہو جاتا ہے محبوب بھی آخر آخر

ایک دن پردے سبھی آنکھ سے ہٹ جاتے ہیں

اس لئے ذکر نہیں کرتا کسی سے تیرا

رنج و آلام کو بانٹیں تو یہ بٹ جاتے ہیں

اس کا دربان ہے کیا چیز کہ فیصلؔ ہم تو

سامنے وقت کے سلطان کے ڈٹ جاتے ہیں
