نہ غزلِ میر ہوں ، نہ شاہِ میر ہوں

نہ غزلِ میر ہوں ، نہ شاہِ میر ہوں

کفن میں لپٹی ہوٸی لاشِ ہیر ہوں

سمجھ نہ پاۓ ، یہ عزیزِ مصر بھی

کہ حوس ہوں یا ، عشق کی اخیر ہوں

نہ میری ، منزل نہ ، کوٸی ، راستہ

نہ میں کسی بشر کی راہ گیر ہوں

نہ ہی اسد ، نہ میر نے بیاں کیا

کسی بے نام ، درد کی اخیر ہوں

جفاۓ دل بری سے ، یہ مقام ہے

نہ میں ازلِ فقیر ، شاہ پیر ہوں

بلند ہے ، وفا کا رتبہ ، بھی مگر

نگاہِ یار ، سامنے فقیر ہوں

کبھی یہ چومتے تھے لوگ خاک بھی

مگر میں یہ ترے لیے حقیر ہںوں

سمجھ نہ پاۓ ، دانش ، و دلیر بھی

کہ میں پہیلی ہوں ، یا نظرِ تیر ہوں

زمانے میں بلند ، نام ، میرا بھی

جفا ہی ہوں، مگر رہی ، نصیر ہوں

کہیں گدا ہوں تو ، کہیں امیر ہوں

یہ دَردِ شاہ ہے ، کہیں پہ میر ہوں
