مصیبت میں بھی میری یہ سمجھداری نہیں جاتی

خفا کتنا بھی ہوؤں نرم گفتاری نہیں جاتی

کوئی اپنا غلط ہو گر تو لہجہ نرم رہتا ہے

غلط تو ہے مگر مجھ سے یہ بیماری نہیں جاتی

بڑی مغرور عادت ہے غموں میں مسکرانے کی

میری نس نس میں بہتی یہ اداکاری نہیں جاتی

کوئی امّید جب بچتی نہیں جھکنا ہی پڑتا ہے

کسی سے یوں ہی کوئی سلطنت ہاری نہیں جاتی

جہاں بھی فائدہ دیکھیں جھکا دیتے ہیں سر اپنے

یہ عادت آج بھی لوگوں کی درباری نہیں جاتی

حسد کی آگ میں سب جل رہے ہیں ایک دوجے سے

نہ جانے کیوں دلوں سے یہ مهاماری نہیں جاتی

لٹا ہوں بارہا میں عشق کے جن رہ گزاروں پر

انھیں راہوں سے میری آج بھی یاری نہیں جاتی
