یوں بھی دل احباب کے ہم نے گاہے گاہے رکھے تھے

اپنے زخم نظر پر خوش فہمی کے پھاہے رکھے تھے

ہم نے تضاد دہر کو سمجھا دوراہے ترتیب دیئے

اور برتنے نکلے تو دیکھا سہ راہے رکھے تھے

رقص کدہ ہو بزم سخن ہو کوئی کار گہہ فن ہو

زردوزوں نے اپنی ماتحتی میں جلاہے رکھے تھے

محتسبوں کی خاطر بھی اپنے اظہار میں کچھ پہلو

رکھ تو لیے تھے ہم نے اب چاہے ان چاہے رکھے تھے

جو وجہ راحت بھی نہ تھے اور ٹوٹ گئے تو غم نہ ہوا

آہ وہ رشتے کیوں ہم نے اک عمر نباہے رکھے تھے

کاہکشاں بندی میں سخن کی رہ گئی سازؔ کسر کیسی

لفظ تو ہم نے چن کے نجومے مہرے ماہے رکھے تھے
