ہر اہتمام ہے دو دن کی زندگی کے لیے
سکون قلب نہیں پھر بھی آدمی کے لیے
تمام عمر خوشی کی تلاش میں گزری
تمام عمر ترستے رہے خوشی کے لیے
نہ کھا فریب وفا کا یہ بے وفا دنیا
کبھی کسی کے لیے ہے کبھی کسی کے لیے
یہ دور شمس و قمر یہ فروغ علم و ہنر
زمین پھر بھی ترستی ہے روشنی کے لیے
کبھی اٹھے تھے جو خورشید زندگی بن کر
ترس رہے ہیں وہ تاروں کی روشنی کے لیے
ستم طرازی دور خرد خدا کی پناہ
کہ آدمی ہی مصیبت ہے آدمی کے لیے
رہ حیات کی تاریکیوں میں اے زاہدؔ
چراغ دل ہے مرے پاس روشنی کے لیے

tamam umr KHushi ki talash mein guzri
tamam umr taraste rahe KHushi ke liye
na kha fareb wafa ka ye bewafa duniya
kabhi kisi ke liye hai kabhi kisi ke liye
ye daur-e-shams-o-qamar ye farogh-e-ilm-o-hunar
zamin phir bhi tarasti hai raushni ke liye
kabhi uThe the jo KHurshid-e-zindagi ban kar
taras rahe hain wo taron ki raushni ke liye
sitam-taraazi-e-daur-e-KHirad KHuda ki panah
ki aadmi hi musibat hai aadmi ke liye
rah-e-hayat ki tarikiyon mein ai 'zahid'
charagh-e-dil hai mere pas raushni ke liye
