در و دیوار پہ اک سایہ پڑا ہے دیکھو

میرے رستے میں کوئی جیسے کھڑا ہے دیکھو

ذرۂ خاک کو سر پر لئے پھرتی ہے ہوا

اور پتھر کہ زمیں میں ہی گڑا ہے دیکھو

اس قدر بھیڑ ہے رستے میں کہ چلنا ہے محال

اور بادل کہ ابھی سر پہ کھڑا ہے دیکھو

اپنی ہی ذات کے سائے میں چھپا بیٹھا ہوں

کہ مرا سایہ بھی تو مجھ سے بڑا ہے دیکھو

موج دریا کو سمندر سے مفر مشکل ہے

لوٹ بھی آؤ کہ یہ رستہ کڑا ہے دیکھو

کوئی تو آئے مجھے آ کے بچائے اس سے

میری دہلیز پہ اک شخص کھڑا ہے دیکھو

سر پہ طوفان بھی ہے سامنے گرداب بھی ہے

میری ہمت کہ وہی کچا گھڑا ہے دیکھو

سر کٹا کر بھی کھڑا ہوں سر میداں اختر

اس طرح جنگ یہاں کون لڑا ہے دیکھو
