غیرت عشق کا یہ ایک سہارا نہ گیا

لاکھ مجبور ہوئے ان کو پکارا نہ گیا

کیا لہو روئے تو آیا ہے بہاروں کا سلام

صرف خوابوں سے حقائق کو سنوارا نہ گیا

معرکہ عشق کا سر دے کے بھی سر ہو نہ سکا

کون راہی تھا جو اس راہ میں مارا نہ گیا

وہ بھی وقت آتا ہے ساقی بھی بدل جاتے ہیں

مے کدے پر کبھی مستوں کا اجارا نہ گیا

شوق کی بات کب الفاظ میں ڈھل سکتی تھی

اس پری کو کبھی شیشے میں اتارا نہ گیا

کبھی ٹکرا دیئے شیشے کبھی چھلکا دیئے جام

رائیگاں ایک بھی ساقی کا اشارا نہ گیا

آئنہ جتنے بھی دیکھے وہ مکدر تھے سرورؔ

جوہر صدق و صفا پھر بھی ہمارا نہ گیا
