ہمیں سفر کی اذیت سے پھر گزرنا ہے

تمہارے شہر میں فکر و نظر پہ پہرا ہے

سزا کے طور پہ میں دوستوں سے ملتا ہوں

اثر شکست پسندی کا مجھ پہ گہرا ہے

وہ ایک لخت خلاؤں میں گھورتے رہنا

کسی طویل مسافت کا پیش خیمہ ہے

یہ اور بات کہ تم بھی یہاں کے شہری ہو

جو میں نے تم کو سنایا تھا میرا قصہ ہے

ہم اپنے شانوں پہ پھرتے ہیں قتل گاہ لیے

خود اپنے قتل کی سازش ہمارا ورثہ ہے
