رفیق دوست محب مجھ کو شاق سب ہی تھے
اگرچہ کہنے کو یہ ہم مذاق سب ہی تھے
میں امتحان کی کاپی کو سادہ چھوڑ آیا
دماغ میں تو سیاق و سباق سب ہی تھے
تمام رات رہا دل میں حبس کا منظر
کھلے ہوئے تو در اشتیاق سب ہی تھے
اسی محل سے تھی وابستہ شہر کی عظمت
شکستہ یوں تو در و بام و طاق سب ہی تھے
ہمارا گاؤں فسادوں کی زد سے دور رہا
اگرچہ لوگ شرارت میں طاق سب ہی تھے
