ہر قدم چمپئی پھولوں کے کھلانے والے

گم نہ ہو جائیں تری راہ میں جانے والے

پھر بڑے زور سے دروازہ کوئی بند ہوا

پھر کہا دل نے ابھی آئیں گے آنے والے

عمر بھر ڈھونڈتے پھرتے رہے اپنی آواز

تیری آواز میں آواز ملانے والے

چاند ٹھہرا سا ہوا بند سی پتے چپ سے

سو رہے جا کے کہیں پیار جگانے والے

اور اگر میں نے تجھے دیکھنا چاہا ہی نہ ہو

منہ ادھر پھیر کے اے آنکھ چرانے والے

کیا کوئی میرے سوا مل نہ سکا میرا حریف

میری گردن میں مرے ہاتھ پہنانے والے

وہ بھی مجبور ہے اے اشکؔ سنے کس کس کی

ایک سننے کو تو لاکھوں ہی سنانے والے
