تقدیر محبت تھی مر مر کے جیے جانا

جینا ہی مقدر تھا ہم مر کے بھی کیا کرتے

مہلت نہ ملی غم سے اتنی بھی کہ حال اپنا

ہم آپ کہا کرتے اور آپ سنا کرتے

نادم اسے چاہا تھا جان اس پہ فدا کر کے

تدبیر تو اچھی تھی تقدیر کو کیا کرتے

احباب سے کیا کہئے اتنا نہ ہوا فانیؔ

جب ذکر مرا آتا مرنے کی دعا کرتے
